Thanksgiving through Christmas is all about the table. Though entrees include ham and crown roast, turkey is the star. The good news is that nearly any wine goes well with turkey. It's the sides that are the challenge. They run the gamut from sweet, salty, spicy, vegetative, tart, creamy and so on. Rather than attempt to complement all of these flavor elements, simply offer a red and a white that are fruit-forward instead of complex. |
| Pinot Noir and Côtes du Rhône work really well as the reds. The whites suggested are Riesling (medium-dry, Spatlese type) or un-oaked Chardonnay and Viognier. |
